Cookie Policy

1. In brief

The website www.perhe.app, operated by Tohmoco Oy, uses two kinds of data stored in your browser: essential data that the site needs in order to work, and marketing measurement that is only used if you give your consent. In addition, visitor numbers are measured with the cookie-free Plausible service, which stores nothing in your browser and collects no personal data.

No marketing cookies are set and no related scripts are loaded before you have accepted them. If you decline, the site works normally and nothing extra is stored.

2. Essential data

The site stores one piece of information in your browser’s local storage: your cookie choice. It records the category you selected, the time of the choice and the version of this policy. Without it we could not remember your choice and would have to ask on every visit.

The information stays in your browser until you clear your browser data or change your choice. It is not sent to our servers.

We do not ask for consent for essential data, because the service cannot be provided without it.

3. Cookie-free visitor statistics: Plausible

Visitor numbers on the site are measured with Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia). The service is designed to work without cookies: it stores nothing in your browser, creates no persistent identifier and does not follow you to other websites. Data is processed and stored within the European Union.

Only aggregate information is collected: which pages were viewed, which website or search engine the visitor came from, browser and device type, page language, and the country and region derived from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored – it is used only to compute a daily-changing, irreversible identifier that separates page views on the same day into distinct visits. No individual can be identified from the data. We also count how many visitors continue to an app store and which outdated addresses lead to the error page.

Codes and identifiers contained in the app’s invitation, sharing and login links are removed from the address in your browser before anything is sent to the statistics service.

Because the service stores nothing on your device and processes no personal data, no consent is required. The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): we want to know how many people visit the site and which pages are useful. Read more in Plausible’s data policy.

4. Marketing: the Meta advertising pixel

With your consent, the site loads the advertising pixel (Meta Pixel) of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. It lets us see whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring visitors to the site and lead to app downloads.

The pixel sets Meta’s own cookies in your browser and transmits information to Meta such as your IP address, browser type and the page you visited. Meta may link this information to your account if you are logged in to its services. In this respect Meta acts as an independent data controller, and the processing is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.

The legal basis for the processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred outside the European Union under the transfer mechanisms used by Meta.

We do not use the pixel to process family content, app user data or children’s data. It applies to this website only.

5. Giving and withdrawing consent

We ask for consent on your first visit. Accepting and declining are equally easy and shown in the same view: neither is hidden behind settings, and no option is pre-selected.

You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the site. If you withdraw marketing consent, the pixel is no longer loaded and the site deletes the cookies set by Meta from your browser. To delete data already transferred to Meta, contact Meta directly.

You can also block cookies entirely in your browser settings. Some websites may then work incorrectly.

6. External links

The site contains links to external services such as the Apple App Store, Google Play and Facebook. When you follow such a link to another service, that provider may process data and use cookies according to its own policies. We do not control the cookies of these services.

7. Mobile application

Mobile applications do not use browser cookies in the same way as websites. The processing of personal data, technical identifiers and analytics in the Perhe.app application is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this policy

If new cookies or other tracking technologies requiring consent are added to the site, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again before they are taken into use.
